Today is the day we have been looking forward to, since we (App IT Byte) fully acquired the Kelly Pool app back in April.
We are proud to announce the biggest feature update to the best Kelly Pool app on the market, since its launch back in mid-2016.
With this major update, we focus on 6 key areas:
This one is for the tech nerds!
Prior to adding new features to our service, we have taken the time to convert the iPhone/iPad app to now use SwiftUI for all visuals and also convert the Android app to be built using Kotlin.
While this upgrade does not result in any major visual differences for players, this fundamental re-architecture resulted in performance and stability improvements, smaller download and install sizes (before new features were added) and a more future-proof project for us to build upon.
With this transition, our Apple app now requires iOS/iPadOS 16 at minimum to install (up from iOS 12).
The Android app still works for players using devices running Android 7.0 Nougat or newer.
Easily the biggest feature we are adding in this release is a built-in private Leaderboard.
The Kelly Pool app is now designed to do the following for players:
Most other free solutions available don't allow for full player/ball number combinations and have limited or no ability to track the gameplay.
We are offering both of these for free, with our Leaderboard feature being exclusively available to Kelly Pool Plus users, which is a new tier we are offering starting today above our free-to-play offering.
During each game, the following details are recorded:
We encourage all players to complete every game in full, including all alerts that appear, so all records are saved correctly.
You can view all results from the Leaderboard screen button, in the top right corner of the home screen in the app.
Each player is required to participate in at least 3 games before appearing on the leaderboard, to help create an average for each players history for rankings.
Kelly Pool Plus users can take advantage of the whole range of additional features we offer, including removing ads, with the option to disable the Leaderboard if they want to keep the same casual level of play, they are already familiar with.
All Player and Ball Count Combinations Are Now Possible
We have raised the player count options to 15 and the ball count options to 7.
This now allows for all potential player/ball combinations for the 15 ball numbers in play.
New Remembered Player Names Row
The most noticeable change for how games are setup is eliminating the remembered player names screen and moving this into a scrollable row at the top of the player names screen.
Each name can now be tapped on in any order, resulting in more flexibility in player ordering and eliminating one screen when entering your game details.
New Edit Player Names Screen
To complement this new remembered player names row, we have added a new Edit Player Names screen.
This is accessible from the Settings screen inside the app, via either the Remember Player Names or Leaderboard buttons.
All remembered names are listed on this screen with the option to either edit or delete each name.
The leaderboard data for each name is also erased if deleted.

Two-Step Confirmation for Revealing Player Numbers
When you tap on a player name on the gameplay screen, the app will now display an alert asking if you do want to see that player's numbered balls that are still in play.
This is designed to minimize accidental presses, spoiling the game in play and its outcome.

New Undo Last Ball Button
After the first ball has sunk, a new Undo button will appear in the bottom left corner of the gameplay screen.
When you tap on it, an alert will appear asking to confirm the last ball number that had sunk and if you want to bring the ball back into play.
This also reallocated the ball to the assigned player where needed.
New Restore Ball Number Feature
At the same time, we have brought this function to allowing each ball individually to be brought back into play.
Every ball when they sink now become semi-transparent and when tapped on, displays an alert asking if you want to restore that ball number.

New Resume Game Feature
Has your phone ever died mid-game?
Thanks to our new Resume Game Feature, you won't lose your game progress in situations like this.
When you open the app again, the app's home screen will display an alert asking if you want to resume.
If you select Yes, the game will pick up from where you left off.
If you select No, you will stay on the app's home screen with that games data being erased.
New Gameplay History Feature (Kelly Pool Plus Exclusive)
For Kelly Pool Plus subscribers, a new history button will appear at the top of the gameplay screen, which when tapped will display the full history of each ball sinking for the current game, on its own dedicated screen.
The most recent ball to sink appears first and also listed who each ball was assigned to, if applicable.
New App Icon
Having been over 9 years since the original launch and with all of the major advancements in this major update, we felt the time was right to give our app a brand new icon.
This new icon represents the competitiveness, passion and excitement of playing the Kelly Pool game and also includes the number 3 ball to tie it into our Version 3.0 release.
Updated Top Navigation Bar and Liquid Glass for iOS 26
This major update embraces the new Liquid Glass Visual Design that Apple launched publicly just a few weeks ago, with iOS 26 and iPadOS 26.
These design changes are reflected primarily in the top navigation bar, which has also been redesigned for both iOS and Android to create a consistent full screen look on both platforms.
The new app icon has also received the Apple Liquid Glass treatment to show on every iOS/iPadOS 26 home screen accordingly. This includes catering for light, dark, clear and tinted icons.
Updated Player/Ball Selection Screen
The Number of Players and Balls selection screen has been updated with new button tiles, to bring consistency between iOS and Android.
Added Accessibility Support
This release includes support multiple accessibility options, including:
New Sound Effects (Kelly Pool Plus Exclusive)
We have added 12 new sound effects, for Kelly Pool Plus users.
New Pool Table Felt Backgrounds (Kelly Pool Plus Exclusive)
One of the biggest visual changes in this release, exclusive to Kelly Pool Plus users, is the option to change the background to a close up picture of green, blue or red felt.
This allows players to personalize the Kelly Pool app to complement the pool table felt they are playing on.
New Ball Designs (Some Kelly Pool Plus Exclusive)
The 2nd biggest visual change to this release, is the ability to change the pool table balls displayed, between any of the 5 designs available.
The original ball design plus the design that complements our new logo are available for free to all users.
Ball Styles C to E are exclusive to Kelly Pool Plus users.

Updated Rules Screen
We have refreshed the wording on the Rules screen, to make it easier for all players to understand.
This wording is now consistent with the Rules page on our website.
Added a News Button
A new button has been added to the top left corner of the home screen in the app, to immediately access this news page.
This is designed to be our primary form of communication on all major updates for our service, in addition to the App Store version history notes.
A red dot will appear on this button each time a new post has been released and disappear immediately after viewing.
Added a New Update Available Button
For future app updates, a new button will appear in the top middle of the app's home screen, to highlight when an app update is available on each respective platform.
Updated Feedback Screen
The Feedback screen, accessible via the Settings screen, has been rebuilt natively inside the app.
Whether it is suggesting a feature or reporting any issue, we are open to any and all feedback.
We are now officially the first Kelly Pool digital assistant (app or web-based) to be available in multiple languages.
We have added support for the following 18 languages, in addition to English by default.
This allows us to bring more awareness to the Kelly Pool game and cater to a whole new market.
We have also made many additional enhancements to the Kelly Pool app that fall outside of the categories above.
Our new subscription tier is available with annual and monthly options, with prices reflected in each region. Please refer to your App Stores pricing for accurate local pricing.
To summarize this post, the optional Kelly Pool Plus subscription brings the following perks with today's update:

The Kelly Pool mobile app officially launched as an iPhone app back on May 12th 2016.
As of today, App IT Byte has fully acquired the Kelly Pool mobile app, available on iOS and Android.
This acquisition builds upon the App IT Byte mission statement, which is to create innovative products and services that are easy to use and serve a purpose, while also exploring opportunities to further expand the use cases of our smart devices.
As part of our new direction, we are introducing our new kellypool.app website today.
This dedicated website is designed to promote the addictive Kelly Pool game, to more markets around the world, while also:
This acquisition will lead towards further enhancements to the number 1 Kelly Pool app on the App Store, with the next major feature update now in active development.
